I grew up in Solomon, KS where I played football, basketball, and ran track all 4 years in High School.  Being active has always been in my blood as my father was a 3 time WAC wrestling champion who instilled in me the power of determination and will.  I attended Fort Hays briefly before enlisting in the United States Army Reserves in 2003.  It didn’t take long before I was sent on my first tour to Iraq.  While there it also spurred a love for distance running as a way to pass the time and de-stress. 

After arriving back I enrolled at Kansas State University and was deployed in 2008 again to Iraq.  This time I had the tall task of being in charge of our PT program and getting 133 soldiers to pass their PT test, all while overseas (with an initial 33% passing rate). Well, you can’t preach what you don’t yourself practice, so I was able to get all 133 soldiers a passing test, with myself earning the highest score of a 327 (27pts over 100%).  Being a role model for health & wellness was crucial to both help soldiers with stress as well as provide multiple avenues of exercise depending on mission. 

So I get back in 2009, and can finally graduate with my B.S in Exercise Science in 2010. Upon moving to Wichita, I did an intern with Wichita State University strength and conditioning program primarily working with the girls Basketball and Volleyball teams working on vertical, proper footwork regarding lateral movement and developing core muscles crucial in maintaining posture while decreasing risk of injuries.  I’ve been a personal trainer for 7 years while getting my American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) health fitness specialist certification.  I recently this year also became the only Corporate Health & Wellness Association Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist in Kansas. 

I joined Fitness Alliance mid January of 2015 after meeting with Bill Leavitt and realizing the vision he has completely correlates with my goal, helping people with proven methods.  I’m beyond excited to grow as a trainer, perfect my craft though education and dive into becoming a Resistance Training Specialist!
